So everything’s packed.. except the Wifi router giving me web access. I found out I’m not getting the room i thought I was getting. My personal space might be more minimal.

So one of the things that makes living temporarily with family not frustrating, is how they go out of town almost every weekend. It was a stressful week of having to leave my old place, my old life, but I feel like I’m re-grounding myself. Listening to favorite albums I haven’t listened to in a while, taking saunas, and having peaceful smokes in the gazebo.

adventures in suburbia
So after years of living 90% of my life in one neighbourhood, tomorrow i need to get up at 6am, get to a hospital on the otherside of the city to help a family member who doesn’t speak english, go through surgery. Need to be there 2 hours early. Then I will travel with them to a far off suburb. Then, after staying for a couple hours there, getting a ride back ‘home’ in the early...

So every driveway has a pick-up truck, and it now takes me an hour longer to get to work.
On the plus side, I may randomly be able to borrow one of the cars if they’re free to use. So I can drive to work for the first time, tomorrow, and this weekend I can head out to the jam space with my gear.

almost gone
The next 48 hours will be stressful. I still have a few small things to pack… so many boxes to move. Going to Millwoods(a suburb) tomorrow. Don’t know for how long. I will be staying with family, but i worry we will get on each other’s nerves… but i should save up, so I may stay a while.

I ended up being healthier than i thought at Friends and Neighbours… I’m really craving avocados lately.

cat fort
I made a fort for the cat out of an old cardboard box. A going away gift… Now after hiding in it for most of the week, she’s chewing it apart. There’s bits of cardboard in the kitchen, the apartment hallway, and even in the bathtub. My little killer…
The Empress
It was nice running into old friends at the empress. Colleen Brown was lovely as always, up on stage. During my stay in the suburbs, there’s actually a quick bus link to the Empress on drunken nights. I feel like I will be reacquainted with an old friend.
